Resveratrol Slows Aging By Reducing Excess Insulin Production

Want to stay young with a strong young heart? Studies proved many years ago that aging could be slowed  and your heart strengthened by simply restricting calories.  Calorie restriction can increase life span by as much as 20% in animal studies New research just discovered a way to keep an animals heart young and it can directly benefit you.

Insulin has been shown to be a hormone of aging and early death when in excessive amounts. The new study showed by manipulating the genes involved in the regulation of insulin can keep the hearts of the research animals younger. In this study. The scientists suppressed the P110 alpha gene in this study in order to do the regulation.

Aged mice with the activity of the  P110 alpha gene suppressed, had better heart function and fewer markers of aging. They had less scarring that reduces heart function and these animals had genetic activity in their hearts similar to younger mice.

The research leader stated that insulin signaling is crucial in the heart aging process. . Further, he said how caloric restriction does the same thing as his genetic engineering. Most important to us as humans he said, we can accomplish the same thing without gene manipulation or calorie restriction. All you do is take a nutrient chemical that mimics calorie restriction. Reseveratrol is one of the best going to accomplish this.

Reseveratrol is a super antioxidant and one of the best supplements going even without this new discovery. It’s high antioxidant power gives you protection in the prevention of circulatory problems, heart disease, cancer cell formation, lowering of blood sugar and it is anti-inflammatory.

Grape skin and grape seed is where the most resveratrol can be found in nature. It is also found in Vaccinum species of berries like blueberries and bilberry. Cocoa and peanuts are also good natural sources. Resveratrol is in some antioxidant energy drinks as well as capsule form.
